Partnership with parents

During our recent ofsted inspection in August 2011, we were rated outstanding for our engagement with parents and carers.

Springwood nursery sees its partnership with parents to be very important. When we refer to ‘parents’ we mean both mothers and fathers; these include both natural or birth parents as well as step parents and parents who do not live with their children, but have contact with them and play a part in their lives.

We actively encourage and welcome parents who wish to come into the nursery to help or do a talk or demonstration of their skills. An open invitation is displayed on the parents notice board. We welcome parents along to all our trips and outings. For those parents/ families where English is an additional language, staff would tell them about these opportunities verbally to ensure they are included with every other parent/carer.

Parents can be reassured that their child is going to be well cared for and encouraged to develop and learn in an environment which values and needs their contribution on a day to day basis.  They will be kept informed about their child's development and general process.  Good, clear communication means that the needs of the child and his/ her family can be met more easily
